Community Flag Program

Flags for Housing Program

Join us in supporting our community through Habitat Bulloch’s Flags for Housing Program.
Your support helps us keep up with rising construction costs and aids in our mission to make homeownership affordable for low-income families in Bulloch County while fostering stability and self-reliance in our community.

A flag subscription also makes a great gift for a friend, neighbor or family member.

Business Flags for Housing Program

For a minimum of $100 annual contribution, you will receive US and Georgia Southern flags to display in front of your business. The new business flag season will begin with Georgia Southern flags distributed before the first home football game on August 31st, 2024, and will continue through Independence Day, July 4th, 2025.

Your $100 donation will secure Georgia Southern flags for six home football games, Fall and Spring Commencement Days, and potentially a bowl game.

Additionally, businesses will receive US flags for key dates, including Patriot Day, Election Day, Veterans Day, Memorial Day, FlagDay, Juneteenth, and Independence Day.

You can also purchase additional US and Georgia Southern flags for
$50 each, either for the same location or an additional site in Statesboro.

Residential Flags for Housing Program

For a minimum $60 annual contribution to the Habitat Flag Program, Habitat volunteers will bring you a flag mounted on a Habitat Bulloch branded flag pole which you can fly on the following holidays: Memorial Day, Flag Day, Independence Day, Labor Day through Patriot Day (9/11) and Veterans Day. Some neighborhoods have a volunteer who will set out and take down the flag for you if you are not able to do this for yourself.

Each year our goal is to fly more than 500 flags in front of Bulloch County homes which would represent $30,000 raised for low income housing.

Flag volunteers needed!

Habitat would like to continue our service of setting out and taking up flags for participants in the program who are not physically able to do it for themselves. We need new volunteers to set up the flags in some of the neighborhoods that we already serve, and must have new volunteers to expand this service to new neighborhoods. If you would like to volunteer to help the Flags for Housing Program to your neighborhood in a bigger way, please contact Marcus Toole at 912-489-2076, ext 203.

Please consider helping Habitat for Humanity of Bulloch County by giving of your time and talents. We currently have a critical need for the following positions:

Flag Coordinator

Volunteer position to manage the Flag Program, one of HFHBC’s largest fundraisers. Includes overseeing annual subscriptions and renewals and coordinating volunteers to put out American flags on 6 federal holidays during the year.

Flag Volunteer

Volunteer position to put up and remove flags in neighborhood on each of 6 patriotic holidays between Memorial Day and Veteran’s Day. Volunteer needed in these neighborhoods: Saddlecreek, Country Walk, Brannen Drive, and Edgewood. Can you only help occasionally? We can certainly use Substitute Flag Installers too! Also, if your neighborhood doesn’t participate in the flag program but you would like help getting it set up, just contact the Habitat for Humanity of Bulloch County office.

We are pledged to the letter and spirit of U.S. policy for the achievement of equal housing opportunity throughout the nation. We affirm and support an affirmative advertising and marketing program in which there are no barriers to obtaining housing because of race, color, religion, sex, handicap, familial status, or national origin.
